Claims Accountant

Location: Hybrid – Stokenchurch (near High Wycombe) or London (Stokenchurch-based employees will attend the London office once a month) Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of varied accounting processes within a dynamic international environment. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple legal entities, while gaining exposure to a wide range of financial activities and projects.
As a Claims Accountant, you will be responsible for:
· Preparing and processing sales and purchase invoices accurately.
· Executing daily bank postings, maintaining the cash book, and performing regular reconciliations.
· Managing payment runs, ensuring all payments are made on time.
· Producing accurate financial reports using Excel and accounting systems.
· Supporting Claims Handlers and management by resolving financial queries promptly.
· Carrying out monthly control activities, analysing variances, and clarifying discrepancies.
· Assisting with audits by providing clear documentation and explanations.
· Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and internal policies.
· Supporting wider team projects, including process improvements and system upgrades.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
· Has experience working in an accounts function (AR, AP, or general accounting).
· Is confident using accounting software (SAP R/3 experience preferred, Exact Globe desirable).
· Possesses strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and formulas.
· Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
· Is able to work independently under pressure while also contributing to a team.
· Holds an accounting qualification such as AAT (desirable but not essential).
· Communicates clearly and can explain financial data effectively.

Senior Claims Accountant

Join our dynamic Claims Accounting Hub as a Senior Claims Accountant and play a pivotal role in transforming and standardising our processes across the group!
This senior position focuses on streamlining Claims Accounting data, systems, and postings across multiple legal entities.
You’ll lead initiatives to resolve legacy issues, clean up historical claims balances, and address complexities arising from demergers and system migrations.
We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills, a hands-on and structured approach, and the ability to identify inconsistencies, correct errors, and ensure our Claims Accounting systems remain accurate, reliable, and audit-ready.
In addition to this, as our Senior Claims Accountant you will be responsible for:
· Leading clean-up activities across all Claims Accounting systems, ensuring complete and accurate accounting of claims-related transactions.
· Reviewing and correcting legacy claims data, mapping errors, historical balances, and inconsistent postings across entities.
· Supporting post-migration stabilisation following system changes or company demergers.
· Standardising Claims Accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls across the organisation.
· Identifying root causes of recurring claims-related accounting issues and implement sustainable fixes.
· Improving system workflows and data integrity across SAP, Exact Globe, and related platforms.
· Identifying opportunities for process simplification, automation, and improved efficiency.
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
· At least 5 years of experience in different Accounting areas (AR, AP, GL)
· Experience with clean-up, data remediation, or post-migration activities.
· Intermediate Excel skills (intermediate formulas, PivotTables, data analysis).
· High attention to detail and ability to identify, analyse, and correct inconsistencies.
· Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills.
· High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
It would be great if you had:
· Experience with SAP R/3 FI-module.
· Experience with clean-up, data remediation, or post-migration activities.
· Experience with Exact Globe or similar accounting software.
· AAT or equivalent qualification (or working towards one).
· Experience working across multiple legal entities or international environments.

Accounting Manager

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a team of four talented accountants and oversee financial operations across 12 countries, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance at every step.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 5 – 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Experience in an international environment is desirable.
· Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency with IFRS.
· Experience with post-migration or ERP transition environments is a plus.
· Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Exact).
· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, xlookup, data analysis).
· Hands-on mentality with the ability to dive into operational details when needed.
· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
· Fluency in English; additional European languages (especially German or Spanish) are a plus.

Claims Accountant

We are now recruiting for a Claims Accountant to work in our busy Accounting Hub, dealing with all day-to-day accounting activities for the international insurance arm of our business.
You will be involved in a number of key processing activities across several legal entities, using your initiative and having a systematic approach to all activities.
You will need meticulous attention to detail within this role and an unwavering commitment to meeting deadlines and dealing with ad-hod projects as they arise.
In addition to this, as our Claims Accountant you will:
· Produce sales invoices and processing purchase invoices.
· Execute daily postings from the bank (receipts & payments) / upkeep of the cash book.
· Carry out bank payment runs and ensuring timely payment.
· Reconcile the bank v general ledger on a daily basis.
· Resolve queries with Claims Handlers and the management.
· Prepare and update regular Excel reporting.
· Provide accurate and timely financial information for management, with reports from the key accounting systems.
· Carry out monthly control activities and clarifying of differences and deviations.
· Provide documentation and explanations to the auditors within areas of work mentioned above
· Comply with governing bodies
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
· Experience in an accounts department (e.g. AR, AP or general accounting)
· SAP R/3 FI-module
· Experience with Exact Globe or similar accounting software is desirable, but not essential
· Intermediate Excel skills - be able to use formulas / Pivot Tables and analyse data
· Accounting qualification such as AAT or similar is desirable, but not essential
· Fluent in English; additional languages such as German, Italian or Czech are a plus.
· Able to work under pressure, with a can-do attitude
· Attention to detail
· Flexibility - be able to meet tight deadlines at short notice
· Ability to critically evaluate inquiries and effectively address and resolve them through comprehensive analysis and questioning
